Our Mission
To achieve our heartfelt environmental and sustainability aims, we minimise our carbon footprint by using renewable solar energy and product packaging made from recyclable and biodegradable cardboard and paper.
All our mail order seafood products are dispatched frozen with reusable non-toxic ice packs. To reduce waste, we ask that customers please hand rinse, pat dry, refreeze and reuse the ice packs until they are no longer serviceable. We meet our social aims in the community through Gospel Messenger, our small voluntary service that supports disadvantaged people here in Grimsby and also in Latvia. Our inspiration comes from a wonderful event that happened just after Easter about 2,000 years ago... Following the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, his downcast fishing industry friends reconnected with their old profession. Early one morning they were returning to shore without any fish. It was then, when they had least expected it and without knowing that it was him, Jesus said, "Throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some." Not only did they find 153 large fish, but they also found it was none other than Jesus himself standing on the shore. He said, "Come and have breakfast", and it wasn't just cornflakes or toast, but rather a hot meal of freshly grilled fish and bread! We find this to be humbling and inspiring, and especially if we're not in the mood for cooking or serving. Jesus led by example, achieved what no one else ever could, became the world's first resurrected person to receive eternal life, and yet he was the one doing the cooking and serving! Wow! We'll gladly follow a lovely man like that. Perhaps you would too? The good news is, he equally cares for us today, he's available 24/7 and he loves to hear from us, no matter what our circumstances... If you would like a free copy of his inspirational words to help brighten even the darkest of days, or if you would just like someone to pray for you or a loved one, please just ask - we're here for you too! |
